Anne Richards

Married to John Richards, mother to Frederick Richards (their only son?). Buried in St Paul's churchyard.

Dr Hugh Field-Richards, great-grandson of Frederick Field-Richards, has kindly allowed us to publish his research work, above.

Our colleague, Andrew Behan, states that he believes she was born as Ann Watkins and as such married John Richards on 22 February 1813 in St Mary-le-Strand Church, Westminster, Middlesex (now Greater London). The marriage register claims that she was aged 28 years, which would mean she had been born circa 1785.

When their son Frederick Richards (1820-1900) was baptised on 19 November 1820 at St Andrew's Church, Holborn, Middlesex (now Greater London), the baptismal register shows the family were living at Kings Arm Yard, Colman Street, and that her husband was a servant.
